On Wednesday 24 August 2022, Luxembourg's Government Commission for Quality, Fraud and Food Safety issued a product recall via the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) due to the concerns related to the presence of the hepatitis A virus.

The product in question is Ardo brand frozen berry mix (1kg) which has a date of minimum durability (MDD) of 11/11/2024 and a batch number 58622131.

Symptoms of hepatitis A can be mild or severe: patients may present - depending on the individual case - fever, feeling unwell, loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, dark urine and jaundice (yellowing of the eyes and skin). Not all infected people experience all of these symptoms at once and they usually appear within 14 to 28 days.

If anyone is in doubt about the appearance of a symptom after ingestion of the product, they are advised to consult a doctor.

The product is currently being sold in Luxembourg by: Auchan, Massen, Orangerie, Pall Center and Cora Concorde; also, sales by other operators cannot be excluded.
