Gili Closet, a Luxembourg-based organic baby clothes brand with ties to Vietnam, is selling and showcasing its products, as well as organising various activities, at Pop-Up Store Esch in Esch-sur-Alzette this week.

Gili Closet was founded in February 2021 by a group of friends with Vietnamese origins living in Luxembourg. The brand is based on an anti-waste and circular economy concept and specifically targets Luxembourg's expatriate community.

Whilst the brand currently sells its products exclusively online, Gili Closet has set up shop at Pop-Up Store Esch this week. Speaking to Chronicle.lu, Thanh Phuong Nguyen, one of the co-founders, said the team appreciated this opportunity to showcase their products and allow potential customers to actually come and feel the fabrics in person.

On Tuesday, the startup held a brunch event for mothers and soon-to-be mothers in Luxembourg at the pop-up store. Around fifteen women attended this event, conversing and sharing their experiences with one another, and, according to Phuong, the event received "good feedback".

Upcoming activities at the pop-up store include a vegan cosmetic workshop, faciliated by fellow Luxembourg startup MissBak, this afternoon at 15:00 and a family recycle day on Saturday 2 October 2021 from 14:00. The workshop will demonstrate how mothers can use vegan cosmetics on their skin, as well as that of their baby. For Saturday's event, families are invited to bring their old clothes to the pop-up store, where they can learn how to recycle and upcycle them. A professional tailor will also be present.

In addition to selling its own products in Esch-sur-Alzette, Gili Closet has invited the non-profit organisation Aide au Vietnam Luxembourg to sell its handmade giftsets, the proceeds of which will go towards supporting children in Vietnam.

According to Phuong, the startup has received support from the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce's House of Startups and Luxinnovation in its efforts to strengthen business ties between the Grand Duchy and Vietnam.

The four co-founders of Gili Closet are Phuong, Loan, Linh and Van Anh.
