Galeries Lafayette will officially open their first store in Luxembourg City this Saturday 30 November 2019.

Located in the new Royal Hamilius shopping centre, the flagship store boasts 6,500 m2 of retail space and, according to a press release issued on Thursday, "is the product of a unique architectural concept inspired by the sheer size of the complex and its surroundings".

The exterior is composed entirely of transparent glass, whilst the interior design reportedly reflects the "sleek, contemporary look" of the complex. In addition, Galeries Lafayette Luxembourg has "blended local influences and French expertise" on every floor, drawing on inspiration from Luxembourg's slate and quarries and the interior design style of French artists such as Charlotte Perriand, Jean Prouvé and Pierre Chapo. Galeries Lafayette also collaborated with École Duperré, a Parisian school of applied arts, for the design of the Luxembourg store.

Galeries Lafayette houses a selection of 300 premium and luxury brands spread over six floors. These cover fashion, homeware and beauty.
