Maurice Léonard’s Wood Optic Dissemination eyewear company, founded in 1995 in Luxembourg, is globally renowned for its Gold & Wood eyewear brand.
The Gold & Wood craftsmen were the first to master the creation of eyewear from wood, making eyewear a sort of art form. They describe the wood they use as lightweight, comfortable, beautiful and unique, combining it with quality precious metals.
The Luxembourgish brand has achieved success across the world, notably in France and the United States. In fact, in 2015, the US accounted for 33% of its turnover, and in 2006, the brand created its Wood Optic USA branch, based in Miami. It also has eight flagship stores in Luxembourg, Paris, London, Munich, Monaco, Los Angeles, New York and Hong Kong.
The luxury eyewear company has received six awards for its Gold & Wood brand, including four SILMO d’Or awards the Grand Prix for Men’s Frames at the International Fair of Tokyo in 2004, and the “Creativity” Prize by Born Ultimate in 2014 for excellence in design.
