Baking enthusiasts will have a new product to sink their teeth into with the advent of the '1760' Pains & Tradition organic baguette at Cactus.
Baker Jean Kircher, head of 'Pains & Tradition', is well-known in Luxembourg for his commitment to 'slow-food' bread, going against the grain of fast food with a view to preserving regional products. A partner of Cactus, Pains & Tradition returned to its Alsace roots with the relaunch of the Ebersheim mill, which has been in the Kircher family since 1760 and which embodies the 'slow food' or 'slow baking' movement.
Exclusive to Cactus from Breads & Tradition in Bascharage, the '1760' baguette is enriched with nutritional wheat germ, created with natural yeast dough and fully organic. Cactus customers will be the first to try this cream-coloured crispy crust at its supermarkets in La Belle Étoile, Howald and Bascharage.
