During Rugby Club Luxembourg (RCL)’s early seasons while playing in the Alsace-Lorraine leagues, Café Linster in Frisange, as the first Luxembourg Café after crossing back over the border, was the obligatory halt on the return from away matches in France.
Léa’s father entertained the team with his trumpet and the players regaled the curious local onlookers with spirited renditions of traditional songs while consuming copious quantities of liquid refreshments and a hearty “steak, frites, salade” cooked by Léa’s fair and (then) relatively inexperienced hand.
In memory of those early days, on Friday 15 April, Léa hosted a luncheon (necessarily - steak, frites, salade) party for a dozen RCL old friends. The group included three RCL Founder members (see photos), three past presidents, three past captains and two past trainers.
