On Saturday, Luxembourg's national rugby team defeated Serbia 30-24 at Luxembourg's Stade Josy Barthel to remain at the top of Division 2C in the 2014-16 European Nations Cup.
In the run-up to this match the visitors had recently lost to Slovenia (at home, 33-17), while Luxembourg had overcome Austria in Vienna 34-6 just 3 weeks ago. Luxembourg were top of the 5-team division, with Serbia bottom.
However, the visitors almost turned the form book on its head and took a bonus point after finishing within 7 points of the victors. Leading 23-17 at half-time, Luxembourg gained a bonus point by scoring four tries in total, with two converted, one penalty and one drop-goal. And this was with two players receiving yellow cards. Luxembourg had only conceded 35 points in the previous 5 games, an average of 7 points a game; on Saturday their indiscipline let them down and the visitors scored 3 tries for a total of 24 points and we actually ahead 24-23 for a time in the second half before the home team scored a converted try to seal the victory.
Luxembourg's next game is away to Denmark on 30 April 2016.
