Christine Heitz, Krick;
Former "The Voice of Germany" contestant Christine Heitz has started her solo carrier with the release of her debut single "Fake Cake".
The 21 year-old Luxembourgish singer calls herself Krick and captivates with fresh, impulsive and colourful pop beats. Already in the sing-offs of the talent show The Voice of Germany, she unveiled her potential end of last year and aims to be on many playlists this summer.
Krick’s unique voice timbre paired up with her dynamic and unfettered attitude gives the song the necessary power to state a clear message, reflecting on experiences she made with pseudo-friends: "I have been disappointed by some close friends in the past, that really got to me. The song is a kind of in-your-face for all the pretenders and gives courage to not let yourself down by such experiences."
The song has been written and produced by Jimmy Braun, known as the frontman of the indie band Austinn. The catchy chorus and electric elements give a powerful backdrop to the sensitive lyrics. The music video in American 50s-style puts up a perfect facade. Coproduced by VCA (Video Clip Awards) "Best Upcoming Young Director" Cedric Letsch and blogger Amii Watson, it depicts illusionary friendship, filmed in the Memphis Coffee in Beggen and who did notice, staring prominent kararate junior world champion Kimberly Nelting.
The lively song combined with Krick’s upbeat nature and professionalism makes her definitely one to watch. She has been supported on her journey by the Summer Sky Agency, a young artist development company, which allows artists to build their way into the music industry. Krick is excited about what’s next to come, and stated “I am more than ready to give it all. In my dreams, I picture myself going on tour and breaking through."
The young artist clearly does not lack stage experience and has the necessary vibe to thrive.
