The Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) has launched a call for volunteers to examine multilingual practices in Luxembourg; they are looking to see how languages influence the development of the brain in a project called MemoLingua.
MemoLingua is studying the impact of practising more than one language on the development of the brain and more specifically cognitive reseve, on the Luxembourgish population. Launched in July 2016, MemoLingua is a joint venture between Dr Perquin from the LIH, Prof. Nico Diederich, neurologist at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg, and their collaborators.
Volunteers should be over 64 years of age, residing in Luxembourg and in the habit of speaking two or three languages each day. Volunteers should join the project before the end of 2017.
