Anglican Church Charity Sports and Funday 2018;

Sunday 17 June 2018 saw this event held again on the grass behind the Coque in Luxembourg-Kirchberg; bigger and better than the previous year, with a short service presided over by Rev Geoff Read, followed by a barbeque, complete with Syrian bread and hummus.

Then it was time for everyone to enjoy the activities and collect the stamps on their cards so they could claim their medal. There was a bouncy castle, face painting and a chance to throw wet sponges at whomever you could persuade to stand behind the clown cut-out!

This year there was also a chance for people of all ages and abilities to try out touch rugby, thanks to Touch Luxembourg. And the races were back, including the very popular piggy-back race and the snail race (no animals were harmed in these races!)

Music was provided throughout the day by Ovidiu Dragan, and also Tomasz Winiarski who was back by popular request.

The tea tent did an amazing job, supplying everyone with tea, coffee and scrumptious cake, and there was of course a bar for those who fancied something a little stronger.

The Anglican Church of Luxembourg thanked everyone who came and participated, and also the Scouts and Explorers, who gave up their Sunday lie-in to help put up tents and then stayed to help with running some of the activities.

The organisers hope that the event raised over €1,000 for the charities supported by the Church.
