Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, has reported that the underpass at Mamer-Lycée railway station experienced flooding in recent days.

According to the CFL, the flooding caused damage to the electrical installations (lighting, displays) in the underpass.

CFL's teams and external service providers are currently on-site to evacuate the water and clean the underpass to ensure it can be operational before school resumes on Monday 8 January 2024. The teams will also install temporary lighting.

The CFL added that, should the issue not be resolved by Monday, replacement buses will take passengers from the Bertrange station to the Josy Barthel stop (platform 5) in Mamer. These buses will run every 30 minutes from 05:35 on Monday.

Alternatively, students can take the G10 school bus from Luxembourg Railway Station, AVL buses 11 and 16 or RGTR buses 801, 802, 811, 812, 821, 822, 823, 824 and 904 from the Stäreplaz bus stop.

Update: Later in the afternoon of Friday 5 January 2024, the CFL confirmed that its teams and external service providers had managed to drain the water, clean the underpass leading to the platforms and repair the electrical installations. The station will thus be operational by Monday and any foreseen replacement buses have been cancelled.
