Luxembourg's railways, the CFL, has announced that two lines in the Grand Duchy will be closed over Whit / Pentecost, from Saturday 25 May to Sunday 2 June 2019.

The works on the railway lines are to enable the CFL to maintain, modernise and extend the rail network, which it does continuously. These railway infrastructure works require the temporary closure of certain sections of lines in order to enable their rapid and safe operation.

During the holidays of Pentecost in Luxembourg, from 25 May to 2 June, the CFL will block the section between Esch-sur-Alzette and Pétange on Line 60 (Luxembourg - Esch-sur-Alzette - Pétange - Rodange). The stretch of Line 10 between Ettelbruck and Troisvierges on line 10 (Luxembourg - Troisvierges - Gouvy) will be also be closed during this period. On the week-ends of 25 to 26 May and 1 to 2 June, the section of Lines 10 between Ettelbruck and Diekirch will be closed. 

Various alternative measures will be put in place. In most cases, travellers will have to leave earlier to arrive at their destination at the desired time. People with reduced mobility wishing to board replacement buses should contact the CFL before starting their journey via tel.: 4990-3737 or via e-mail: video-surveillance.zoc@cfl.lu at least one hour in advance for national traffic and 48 hours in advance for international traffic.

During the closure of the section between Esch-sur-Alzette and Rodange, alternative buses will run between the two stations. During the closure of the section between Ettelbruck and Troisvierges, alternative buses departing/arriving at Ettelbruck station will serve the stations of Wiltz, Kautenbach (with stops in Michelau and Goebelsmuhle), Drauffelt (with a stop at Wilwerwiltz) and Troisvierges (with a stop at Clervaux). On the week-ends mentioned above, alternative buses will run between the Ettelbruck and Diekirch stations.
