On Saturday 28 February 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth reported that twelve members of the third National Representation of Parents were elected at the Forum Geesseknäppchen in Luxembourg-Merl.
According to Luxembourg’s Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth, four representatives were elected for fundamental education, six for secondary education and two for the Centres of Competence in Specialised Psychopedagogy.
The twelve national representatives are appointed from among the sectoral representatives of fundamental education, secondary education and the Centres of Competence. Of the 92 sectoral representatives present at the election, 42 stood as candidates for the National Representation (nineteen for fundamental education, fifteen for secondary education and eight for the Centres of Competence). The sectoral representatives had previously been elected from among local representatives: two per fundamental education directorate, two per public secondary school, one per private secondary school and two per Centre of Competence.

The body is tasked with speaking on behalf of parents nationwide on matters affecting the interests of parents and pupils. Elected representatives are entitled to eight days of leave per year to carry out their mandate.

Having already completed two mandates, Alain Massen is not eligible to stand again for the presidency; however, he will remain acting president until the first meeting of the new representation.
