On Thursday 24 April 2025, six students from St George’s International School in Luxembourg were recognised for achieving the highest subject marks in the world, in Europe and in Luxembourg.

As reported by the school, three students achieved the highest exam marks in the world through the Pearson Edexcel examination board. One student earned the highest mark in Europe, while three students were recognised for scoring the highest marks in Luxembourg.

The Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards recognise top-performing international students worldwide who achieved the highest mark for all levels of Pearson Edexcel qualifications, including International GCSE and A levels.

Elsa H was awarded the highest mark in the world for A-level psychology, Mathilda M earned the highest mark in the world for A-level history and Elena W achieved the highest mark in the world for GCSE maths.

Stefan B scored the highest mark in Europe for A-level further maths and the highest mark in Luxembourg for A-level maths.

Sara G achieved the highest marks in Luxembourg for GCSE English language and GCSE history, while Charlotte K was recognised for the best mark in Luxembourg for GCSE English literature.

Head of Secondary, Ms Simmonds, said: “I am immensely proud of the diverse achievements and progress of all our students. Whether through outstanding academic results, embracing new challenges outside the classroom or making meaningful contributions to our school community, each student journey reflects their unique strengths and dedication. I also want to recognise and appreciate the unwavering support and guidance provided by our dedicated team of staff, who play a crucial role in our students' success.’’ 

St George’s Principal Ms Clarke said: “These awards are a testament to the dedication and commitment of our St George’s students. We know that their success is also a tribute to the strength of our community – fellow students, our amazing staff and our families who provide support and encouragement. These outstanding individuals have also contributed both within St George’s and to the wider community of Luxembourg by taking active roles in student leadership. They embody our school’s values of courage, kindness and wisdom and we are very proud of their achievements”.

The students received their Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards, which includes a certificate and medal from Pearson Edexcel, and a gift voucher from St George’s, at a special ceremony attended by families and staff.
