The summer holidays officially start on Tuesday 16 July 2024 for Luxembourg's schools.
Monday 15 July 2024 marked the last day of the 2023-2024 school year for pupils at most public primary schools in Luxembourg. For students of public secondary schools following the national curriculum, the summer holidays began already last week.
The official back-to-school date for the 2024-2025 academic year is Monday 16 September 2024.
For private schools, European schools and even public international schools, summer holiday dates may vary.
For the private International School of Luxembourg (ISL), for example, the last day of classes for the 2023-2024 school year was Thursday 27 June; the first day of the 2024-2025 school year is Monday 26 August 2024.
For St George's International School Luxembourg (following the National Curriculum of England), the summer holidays also begin and finish earlier than local public schools, taking place this year from Saturday 29 June to Tuesday 3 September.
