The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they apprehended two suspected burglars in Hellange on Friday 1 August 2025.
At around 07:45 on Friday, a burglary was reported at a single-family home on Um Buergbierg in Hellange. According to initial information, two individuals gained entry through a window and ransacked the house. They were surprised by the residents and fled the scene. The suspects then reportedly broke into a second home, from which they stole a vehicle and fled.
During a manhunt involving several police patrols and a helicopter, the two suspects were located and apprehended.
By order of the public prosecutor's office, one of the suspects was arrested and was scheduled to appear before an investigating judge on Friday afternoon. The second suspect is a minor (under the age of eighteen). A youth protection report was filed, and the young suspect was placed in a secure detention facility by order of the juvenile court judge.
