Luxembourg's Ministry of State and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade have announced that the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Schmyhal, will pay a working visit to the Grand Duchy on Tuesday 19 March 2024.
Prime Minister Schmyhal will be accompanied by Ukraine's Minister of Finance, Sergii Marchenko, and the Minister of Justice, Denys Maliuska.
Luxembourg's Prime Minister Luc Frieden will host his Ukrainian counterpart for an interview at Senningen Castle. The two heads of government will then have the opportunity to continue their discussions during an official lunch attended by Luxembourg's Minister of Defence, Yuriko Backes, the Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, and the Minister of Justice, Elisabeth Margue. Discussions will mainly focus on the current situation in Ukraine, Luxembourg's support for Ukraine, and relations between Ukraine and the European Union as well as NATO.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister will also be received by Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, Xavier Bettel, for a working meeting at the Mansfeld building in Luxembourg-Ville. The respective ministries reported that Luxembourg and Ukraine will strengthen their bilateral relations on this occasion by signing a technical and financial cooperation agreement.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Schmyhal will be received in audience by the Grand Duke of Luxembourg at the Grand Ducal Palace. The former will also meet the President of the Chamber of Deputies (Luxembourg's parliament), Claude Wiseler, and the President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Nadia Calviño.
