On Monday 21 March 2016, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Secretary of State for Culture, Guy Arendt, met with the Romanian Culture Minister, Vlad Alexandrescu.
During the meeting, Xavier Bettel, in his capacity as Minister of Culture, and his interlocutors addressed several key themes in bilateral cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Alexandrescu has become familiar with Luxembourg's culture scene, having been ambassador to Luxembourg between 2006 and 2011. The political leaders were therefore able to discuss ongoing collaborations in various artistic fields, highlighting the exchanges between Luxembourg and the city of Sibiu, a partner of the European Capital of Culture 2007.
The politicians further discussed a number of future project proposals, with regards to the work that is currently underway on the renewal of the executive programme of the cultural agreement that was concluded in 1994 between Romania and Luxembourg.
