The business delegation accompanying the Minister during the mission consists of thirty representatives of 19 companies. These belong to several sectors of the Luxembourg economy, including industry, steel, logistics, information and communication technologies (ICT) and environmental technologies.
The main objectives of this mission include the search for new business opportunities and strengthening existing economic relations. To this end, formal meetings will be held with political representatives as well as with Indian business leaders. Organised by the Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Embassy of Luxembourg in India and local partners, economic seminars will be held in New Delhi and Mumbai for Luxembourg companies to contact or to deepen trade relations with local companies.
India is the Asian country with the highest economic growth, surpassing that of China in 2015. The World Bank anticipates a growth rate of approximately 7.3% for India in 2015-16.
In terms of foreign direct investment, Luxembourg is the 16th most important partner. To identify new opportunities for the Luxembourg financial sector, representatives of the promotion agency Luxembourg for Finance will accompany the Deputy Prime Minister during this economic mission.
