The annual Emaischen Easter markets were held today in Luxembourg's city centre and in Nospelt.
Easter Monday traditionally brings out the crowds to add to their collection of Peckervillchen (ceramic bird whistles) which are sold on this day only in Luxembourg. In addition to the birds, potters have started to add to the ranges of ceramics available for sale, including from cats, ducks and other animals including cows, frogs and rabbits, to casserole dishes, etc.
In addition, the food and drink stalls were stocked with sausages and chips, with cold food stalls offering waffles, with cream and cherries atop. And the Nospelt marquee was serving pre-booked traditional meals of ham and cabbage, and Bouchee a la Reine.
Both markets had various musical entertainment, alternating between pre-recorded to live sets.
