The Environment Department of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure has confirmed the waters across the Grand Duchy that will be open for bathing during 2015; the 2015 bathing season runs from 1 May to 31 August.
1. Lake Weiswampach (lake reserved for swimming) in the town of Weiswampach
2. Remerschen ponds (pond reserved for swimming) in the town of Schengen
3. Lake Upper Sure from the neighbouring towns of Boulaide, Rambrouch, Neunhausen, Lac de la Haute-Sûre and Esch-sur-Sure.
During the bathing season, the microbiological quality of the water is monitored at various points, according to the Grand Ducal regulation of 19 May 2009 determining special protection measures and the water status of bathing monitoring programmes. The quality of bathing water has been assessed over the years 2011 to 2014 and deemed to be excellent in all cases.
