Serve The City Luxembourg has announced that it is this year helping to coordinate efforts with local municipalities across Luxembourg to spread the word about Grouss Botz – the “Big Clean” and connect those who want to help but might not know how.
To facilitate this, Serve the City has set up a dedicated multi-lingual website - www.groussbotz.lu - to help strengthen participation in Luxembourg’s annual Grouss Botz projects.
Grouss Botz is the traditional Luxembourgish Spring Clean up where volunteers and local organisations join together to help clean up outdoor areas, be it a play park, woodland hedgerows or just around the village.
Serve the City hopes to give greater visibility and accessibility to these initiatives by providing practical information about Grouss Botz projects across the Grand Duchy.
Grouss Botz was first launched in Luxembourg in 1970 and traditionally takes place in the spring time. The first events began mid-March but, depending on the area, dates vary and there are clean-up days scheduled well into April.

Now that Spring is here, Serve the City is encouraging everyone to roll up their sleeves and get involved with their local community.
Serve the City Luxembourg is a registered asbl and is a movement of volunteers serving in Luxembourg; it was launched in December 2012 and is part of the global Serve the City family, which started in Brussels in 2005. Serve the City creates events that mobilise volunteers to serve in simple ways, through sports, music, arts and crafts, meals, friendship and more. Since December 2012, several hundred volunteers have participated in Serve the City Luxembourg's activities organised together with local NGOs.
