US-based Luxembourgish-German singer and actress Adrienne Haan will perform her show "Metropolis Berlin" at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg on Tuesday 25 April 2023 at 20:00.

This tribute to the "Roaring Twenties", featuring the Luxembourg Military Band, describes Berlin during its Golden Age, a time of challenge and change, with songs by Mischa Spoliansky, Friedrich Hollaender, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Louis Prima and more.

It is the era of Brecht and Weill's "The Threepenny Opera", Fritz Lang's silent film Metropolis, the discovery of Marlene Dietrich, portraying the role of "Naughty Lola" in Joseph von Sternberg's world hit The Blue Angel. It is also the era of the Comedian Harmonists, Josephine Baker and the Charleston, the Andrews Sisters as well as the American swing and jazz that transformed Berlin and other major German cities from the old dust of the Kaiserreich (German Empire) into a modern metropolis.

Adrienne Haan combines these genres and revives this exciting epoch by taking the audience on an entertaining journey through music history.

The Luxembourg Military Band, under the musical direction of Raoul Christophe, will accompany Adrienne Haan on this musical journey.

This concert is organised by the Fondation du Judaïsme Luxembourgeois, under the patronage of the German Embassy in Luxembourg.

Tickets cost €24 (€12 for under-26s) and are available online at https://www.luxembourg-ticket.lu/en/detail/metropolis-berlins-goldene-20er/8/eid,61310/metropolis-berlins-goldene-20er.html.
