Adrienne Haan will be performing at the Embassy of Luxembourg in Washington DC and the Triad Theatre in New York City on 21 and 27 March 2019 respectively.
Adrienne Haan started this winter season with concerts in Germany and Turkey. Next on the agenda for the German-Luxembourg artist will be performances in Washington DC and New York City. Haan will perform Cabaret Français at the Embassy of Luxembourg in Washington DC under the musical direction of Howard Breitbart on 21 March from 19:00.
She will go on to perform her successful show "Adrienne Haan sings Kurt Weill", featuring Richard Danley as MD and Dan Levinson and his Novembergruppe Quintet at the Triad Theatre in NYC on Wednesday 27 March at 19:00. In this soirée, Haan focuses on the history of the works of Kurt Weill starting in Berlin in the 1920s and 30s, featuring his famous songs of the Weimar years in collaboration with German playwright Bertolt Brecht, to his exile in Paris where he cooperated with French playwright and movie maker Jacques Deval. The show similarly highlights some of his less known French oeuvres as well as his American successes during the 1940s on Broadway, collaborating with American playwright Ogden Nash.
Haan presents this soirée as a musical voyage, combining original character portrayal and length with new arrangements to match her voice and style. Most are presented in the original language. The show, directed by Barry Kleinbort, features Richard Danley (MD) on piano, Dan Levinson on clarinet, flute and sax, Vinny Raniolo on guitar and banjo, Jared Engel on bass and tuba, Jonathan Russel on violin and Mike Campenni on drums. Peter Martin and Joseph Barry are producing this show.
