Luxembourg’s Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, together with the National Roads Administration (Administration des Ponts et Chaussées) and Luxembourg’s National Railway Company (CFL), have announced that a new Park and Ride facility (Héienhaff P+R), at the first tram stop from Findel Airport, will take place on Monday 28 April 2025 in the late afternoon.

The P+R will initially have 481 parking spaces, including eleven reserved for people with reduced mobility, as well as a secure "bike box" with space for up to 32 bicycles.

The new P&R facility aims to reduce traffic from the A1 motorway and from the east of Luxembourg City by offering, via the "P+R CFL" app, free parking for public transport users, in order to promote intermodality for journeys connected to Luxembourg City. The P+R has direct access to the Héienhaff P+R tram stop and the Senningerberg Héienhaff bus stop.

Free parking will be available for those that park for less than 24 hours and travel a minimum distance of 1.5 kilometres from the car park. However, the P+R will cost more than the "Kiss&Fly" car park at Findel Airport, for commuters parking for more than 24 hours and for those remaining in the immediate area, including the airport or nearby offices.

The Héienhaff P+R will be jointly managed by the National Roads Administration and CHL and will be open 24/7.

The ministry confirmed that the total cost of the work is approximately €4 million including VAT, and the next stages of the gradual expansion of the car park are currently being evaluated.
