The Driver Safety Training Centre (Centre de Formation pour Conducteurs - CFC), in Colmar-Berg, has announced its annual motorbike safety sessions “Fit For Your Bike” will take place over two weekends in April and May 2025.
The event is under the patronage of Luxembourg’s Minister for Mobility and Public Works, Yuriko Backes, and is supported by the Grand Ducal Police, the Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), Road Safety asbl, the Moto-Union Luxembourg, the National Association of Road Traffic Victims (AVR), the Automobile Club Luxembourg (ACL), as well as the companies Goodyear and Dunlop, and in partnership with Triumph Luxembourg.
The Driver Safety Training Centre, which has been organising the half-day “Fit For Your Bike” sessions in Colmar-Berg for several years, advised that, given the many fatal or serious motorcycle accidents on Luxembourg’s roads in recent years, it is important that motorcyclists are made aware of the dangers and risks that await them on the road. Before the first motorcycle rides, it is recommended, in addition to a technical overhaul of the motorcycle, also getting the body and mind back into shape.
They also stressed that it is important motorcyclists reaccustom themselves to the accelerations and decelerations of their machine and that they become aware of the dangers and unforeseen events that can await them at any time and in any place. Key elements of road safety include defensive driving, being prepared for the unpredictable and thinking about the behaviour of other road users.
The half-day sessions will take place at the Driver Safety Training Centre in Colmar-Berg on the following dates:
- Saturday 5 April 2025;
- Sunday 6 April 2025;
- Saturday 10 May 2025;
- Sunday 11 May 2025.
Registration can be undertaken via tel: 85 82 85-1 or by email: contact@cfc.lu.
The training sessions will be held in Luxembourgish, German and French and the registration fee is €50 per participant.
