Witnesses Sought After 9-Year-Old Injured in Hit-and-Run

The Grand Ducal Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a nine-year-old girl was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday afternoon.

The accident occurred near a shopping centre in Potaschberg (Grevenmacher) shortly before 15:50 on Saturday 13 July 2024. The nine-year-old child was trying to use the pedestrian crossing when a car drove over her foot. The police noted that "fortunately", there was no head-on collision. However, the motorist drove on without stopping.

The young victim received outpatient care in hospital for her injuries.

The car is believed to have been a dark-coloured Mercedes C-Class, with a German (Trier) number plate.
