The Grand Ducal Police have launched a call for witnesses in relation to a road accident which occurred in Diekirch on Monday 28 August 2023.
According to the police, an accident involving a car and a pedestrian took place on Rue Clairefontaine in Diekirch at around 08:00 on Monday. The motorist appears to have lost control of his vehicle before hitting a pedestrian and coming to a stop in a ditch.
When the emergency services arrived, the driver was unresponsive. Despite attempts to revive him, the 50-year-old man died at the scene of the accident.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital after receiving first aid on-site.
