Parts of A13 to Close for Schifflange Bowstring Works over Weekend

Luxembourg's National Roads Administration has announced that the A13 motorway will be closed between the Esch-sur-Alzette junction and the Bettembourg crossing over the weekend, due to roadworks. 

As part of the reconstruction of the "Bowstring Schifflange" bridge, the following road closures will be in place from about 22:00 on Friday 14 July 2023 until about 05:00 on Monday 17 July 2023:

- the A13 in both directions between the Esch-sur-Alzette junction and the Bettembourg crossing;

- the exit ramps at the Esch-sur-Alzette junction coming from the A4 respectively from the Foetz interchange and in the direction of the A13 towards Schengen;

- the exit ramp of the Schifflange interchange from the CR169 and in the direction of the A13;

- the exit ramp of the Kayl interchange from the CR165 and in the direction of the A13 towards Pétange;

- the exit ramp of the Burage interchange from the N31 and in the direction of the A13 towards Pétange;

- the exit ramp of the Bettembourg crossing coming from the A3 respectively the A13 and in the direction of Pétange.

Traffic coming from the A4 in the direction of the Bettembourg crossing will be diverted via the Esch-sur-Alzette junction, the A4, the Cessange crossing, the A6, the Gasperich crossing and the A3 towards Metz.

Traffic coming from the A3 or the A13 in the direction of the Esch-sur-Alzette junction will be diverted via the Bettembourg crossing, the A3, the Gasperich crossing, the A6, the Cessange crossing and the A4 towards Raemerich.

Traffic coming from the CR169 towards the A13 in the direction of the Bettembourg crossing will be diverted via the Schifflange interchange, the CR169, the CR164, the Foetz interchange, the A4, the Cessange crossing, the A6, the Gasperich crossing and the A3 towards Metz.

Traffic coming from the CR169 towards the A13 in the direction of the Esch-sur-Alzette junction will be diverted via the Schifflange interchange, the CR169, the CR164, the Foetz interchange, the A4 and the Esch-sur-Alzette junction.

Traffic coming from the CR165 towards the A13 in the direction of the Esch-sur-Alzette junction will be diverted via the Kayl interchange, the CR165, the CR164, the CR165, the N13, the Pontpierre interchange and the A4 towards Raemerich.

Traffic coming from the N31 towards the A13 in the direction of Pétange will be diverted via the Burange interchange, the Bettembourg crossing, the A3, the Gasperich crossing, the A6, the Cessange crossing and the A4 towards Raemerich.

Preparatory works will begin a few hours beforehand, with traffic disruption expected from Friday late afternoon.
