Luxembourg's National Roads Administration has announced that a full-scale safety exercise will take place in the Grouft tunnel on Sunday 4 June 2023.

The National Roads Administration and the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), in collaboration with the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (ITM) and the Grand Ducal Police, are organising a full-scale safety exercise in the Grouft tunnel on the A7 in Lorentzweiler on Sunday morning.

According to the authorities, these mandatory tests are essential in order to guarantee the safety of tunnel users in the event of an incident.

In this context, the following road sections will be closed to traffic on Sunday from 07:00 to 13:00:

- the A7 motorway in both directions between the Waldhof and Lorentzweiler interchanges;
- the Waldhof access road in the direction of Friedhof;
- the Lorentzweiler access road towards Luxembourg.

Traffic in the direction of the A7 towards Friedhof will be diverted from the Waldhof interchange using the fixed "D1" signage via the N11 and the N7 to the Lorentzweiler interchange.

Traffic in the direction of the A7 towards Luxembourg will be diverted from the Lorentzweiler interchange using fixed signage "D2" via the N7 and N11 to the Waldhof interchange.
