Two Dead after N2 Crash involving Lorry, Car

The Grand Ducale Police have reported that a fatal road accident involving a lorry and a car occurred on the N2 between Sandweiler roundabout and Schrassig on Tuesday morning.

Shortly before 11:00, a lorry and a car were involved in a head-on collision on the N2. The two occupants of the car, a 54-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man from the nearby German border area, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene of the accident.

The lorry driver and the passenger, who, according to initial findings, did not suffer any serious injuries, and another person who was in shock, were taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The public prosecutor's office ordered the relevant police department to investigate the scene of the accident. The road is closed to all traffic until further notice.
