The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a serious accident involving a van and a pedestrian occurred in Mondercange on Friday morning.
At around 07:00 on Friday, a van hit a pedestrian on a pedestrian crossing on Rue d'Esch in Mondercange. After receiving initial medical attention on site, the pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
According to the police, a rapid drug test came back positive for the van driver.
The accident vehicle was confiscated and an accident report drawn up.
The public prosecutor's office ordered the criminal investigation police department to launch an investigation into the accident.
