Luxembourg's Roads Administration has announced that it will be carrying out roadworks on the A1 motorway this weekend.

From Friday evening until Monday morning, the Roads Administration will complete renewal works on the wearing course and maintain the median strip between the Senningerberg and Hamm interchanges.

As part of these works, the following road closures will be put in place from around 21:00 on Friday 11 June until around 06:00 on Monday 14 June 2021:

- the A1 in the direction of Gasperich between the Senningerberg and Hamm interchanges;
- the slip roads to the Kirchberg interchange from the N51 and in the direction of the A1 towards Gasperich;
- the slip road of the Grunewald junction coming from the A7 and in the direction of the A1 towards Gasperich.

Traffic coming from the A1 towards Gasperich will be diverted using the "D4" diversion route via the Senningerberg interchange of the A1, the N1, the N1A, the N2A and the Hamm interchange back onto the A1.

Traffic coming from the N51 and the A7 towards the A1 in the direction of Gasperich will be diverted using the "D4" diversion route via the Kirchberg interchange respectively the Grunewald junction of the A1, the Senningerberg interchange, the N1, the N1A, the N2A and the Hamm interchange back onto the A1.

Traffic coming from the A1 towards Gasperich and in the direction of the Kirchberg interchange will be diverted via the bypass of the Senningerberg interchange from where vehicles can go back onto the A1 in the direction of the Kirchberg interchange.

Traffic from the A1 to the Grunewald junction and in the direction of the A7 to Friedhof will be diverted via the bypass of the Senningerberg interchange from where vehicles can go back onto the A1 in the direction of the Grunewald junction.

In addition, the Roads Administration will carry out its ten-year inspection of the cable-stayed bridge between the Gasperich cross and the Hamm interchange on the A1 on Sunday 13 June 2021, from around 05:00 until around 15:00.

During this time, the following road closures will be put in place:

- the A1 in both directions between the Gasperich cross and the Hamm interchange;
- the slip roads to the Gasperich cross coming from the A3 and in the direction of the A1 towards Trier;
- the slip road to the Gasperich cross from the A3 and in the direction of the A6 towards Weyler;
- the slip roads to the Hamm interchange from the N2 and in the direction of the A1 towards Gasperich.

Traffic coming from the A3 and in the direction of the A1 towards Trier will be diverted using the "D1" diversion route via the Gasperich cross, the A3, the B3, the B31, the CR224, the N2 and the Hamm interchange back onto the A1.

Traffic coming from the A3 and in the direction of the A6 towards Weyler will be diverted via the Gasperich cross, the A3, the Gluck roundabout, the A3 and the Gasperich cross towards the A6.

Traffic coming from the N2 and in the direction of the A1 towards Gasperich will be diverted using the "D2" diversion route via the Hamm interchange, the N2, the CR224, the B31, the B3, the A3 and the Gasperich cross to the A6 towards Weyler.

In both cases, preparatory work will begin a few hours in advance, meaning that traffic disruptions are expected at the end of Friday afternoon and during the night of Saturday to Sunday respectively.
