The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a serious traffic accident involving a car and two motorcycles occurred on the N8 in Eischen on Friday evening.
At around 18:30 on Friday, a car collided with two motorcycles after what police determined to be a moment of inattention which saw the car driver move into the opposite lane.
The accident resulted in significant material damage and both motorcycles had to be towed. The route was temporarily closed to traffic.
One of the motorcyclists was slightly injured and the other suffered serious injuries.
Police officers carried out both alcohol and drug tests on the motorist who caused the accident; the test came back positive for cannabis. Accordingly, the driver was also taken to hospital to have a blood and urine sample taken.
An accident report was drawn up.
