The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a road accident which took place on Wednesday evening on the CR110 in Bascharage has resulted in serious injuries for the motorist involved.
At 21:20 on Wednesday, a motorist was driving from Clemency in south-western Luxembourg when he / she lost control of the vehicle, came off the road and collided with two trees on the side of the road. Due to the force of the impact, the engine block came loose and was thrown out of the vehicle. The vehicle overturned several times causing it to hit an oncoming vehicle.
The seriously injured driver who was trapped in the car had to be rescued from by emergency workers. After initial treatment on site, the motorist was taken to hospital, along with the driver of the second car.
During the rescue and recovery work, the road was completely closed to traffic. An accident report was drawn up.
