The Grand Ducal Police have announced that they are focussing the efforts of their national road safety campaign on motorcycle safety.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Luxembourg's motorcycle season started later than usual this year. As part of its national road safety campaign, the police will focus in the coming weeks on the safety of motorcycle drivers.

In this context, there will be an increased police presence on roads which are frequently used by motorcyclists. This will be the case especially on weekends and when the weather is nice.

Police checks will cover the technical condition of the motorcycle, the vehicle papers as well as the wearing of an approved helmet and adequate personal protection. Particular emphasis will be placed on non-regulated exhausts causing sounds that exceed the legal limits.

As part of this road safety campaign, the Grand Ducal Police will raise awareness and inform the public via its social networks by regularly distributing prevention messages. Information is also available (in French) on the police website at https://police.public.lu/fr/espace-usagers-route/motards.html.
