Luxembourg racing driver Dylan Pereira finished runner-up in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany 2020 over the weekend.
As the season draws to a close, Dylan Pereira won one race and came second in the other in the final races of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany 2020, which took place at Ochersleben, a short, fast and narrow circuit where it is difficult to overtake.
In the timed practice, the Luxembourger achieved his objectives and set the best time from the start. After the usual passage through the pits to change the tyres, Dylan Pereira managed to improve further his lap times, securing 2nd place on the starting grid for the first race and pole position for the second.
For the first race, the 10th of the championship, the Förch Racing team driver came out of 2nd place on the grid, immediately jumped to the front of the race and started to gain the lead. In the second lap, a driver coming off the track forced the entry of the safety car, leading to Dylan Pereira losing his advantage. Upon resumption of the race, the Luxembourger managed to hold onto 1st place, performing quick laps immediately in order to gain a lead over his main opponent in the title classification. The victory brought with it 25 points, bringing Dylan Pereira closer to the championship lead.
In the second race of the weekend, the 11th of the championship, the Luxembourg driver got out of pole position but his Porsche skated during the start, he braked a little late for the first corner, was forced to widen his trajectory and let his main opponent overtake him. Fifteen minutes from the checkered flag, a driver's coming off the track forced the entry of the safety car. When the race started again, Dylan Pereira increased pressure on his opponent, but, on a track where overtaking is very difficult, finished in second place.
Dylan Pereira finished the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany 2020 with six victories and three 2nd places in eleven races and the title of runner-up to Larry ten Voorde in the general classification, contributing decisively to the victory of Förch Racing in the team classification. He was also runner-up in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and 3rd in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Virtual Edition.
