Luxembourg racing driver Dylan Pereira dominated the third round of the 2020 Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, which took place this weekend at the Red Bull Ring circuit in Spielberg, Austria.

The Förch Racing team driver finished 1st in the fifth, sixth and seventh races of this year's racing series and now leads the drivers' classification by 11 points.

The latest three races of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany presented the challenge of low atmospheric temperature and the difficulty of heating and maintaining the temperature of the tyres and brakes. Due to this exceptional situation, the race management decided to do two warm-up laps instead of the usual one before the start.

In timed practice, Dylan Pereira had to complete three quick laps and entered the track determined to get good times, to get out of the first places on the starting grid. The tar was wet and slippery. The Luxembourg driver remained cautious to avoid any possible accident that would damage his Porsche. In the end, his competitive spirit took him to 3rd place on the starting grid for the first and third races and 2nd place for the second race of the weekend.

At the start of the first race, Dylan Pereira managed to narrowly avoid contact with pole position, which was in front of him and which stuck on the starting grid, and he immediately jumped to 2nd position, where he stayed for a good part of the race. There he kept an eye on his opponent and waited for the opportunity to pass him. 13 minutes before the end of the race, with the tyres still in good condition and in a clever overtaking manoeuvre, he jumped to the front of the competition, finishing on the top step of the podium.

In the second race, Dylan Pereira came out of 2nd place on the grid. After an intense struggle in the first corners, he took the lead in the competition. He had an error-free race, completed the fastest lap, crossed the finish line almost five seconds ahead of 2nd and climbed, once again, to the top step of the podium to celebrate his second victory of the weekend.

In the third race, the Luxembourger came out of 3rd place on the starting grid with the objective of collecting enough points to take the lead in the championship. With another great start, he immediately jumped to 1st place, immediately starting to gain the lead. The safety car had to enter when a fellow driver came off the track. At the restart, despite strong pressure, Dylan Pereira kept the 1st position.

The Luxembourger had an extraordinary race, obtaining the hat trick in the Red Bull Ring and taking 1st place overall in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. The Luxembourg national anthem was played three times in Spielberg.

Dylan Pereira will return to competition in two weeks. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the eighth and ninth races of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, initially scheduled for the Dutch Zandvoort circuit, will take place from 30 October to 1 November 2020 at the Lausitzring circuit in Germany.
