As part of the upcoming introduction of free public transport in Luxembourg, the Adapto transport service for disabled persons will also undergo various changes with effect from 1 March 2020; it will also be free from this date.

Adapto transport is intended for citizens with an irreversible disability or a physical, mental, sensory or psychic impairment, those with reduced mobility and for people suffering from a progressive disease who have no other means of getting around.

The reform includes changes to the conditions of access to transport and a redefinition of the right of access. The form for obtaining an Adapto card has been modified accordingly and is now available online from adapto.lu and guichet.lu. All eligible persons wishing to use the Adapto service after 2 March 2020 are requested to submit a request to the Transport Department (Adapto service) using the new form. Old Adapto cards and disability cards are no longer valid.

Adapto transport operating hours remain unchanged: the service runs every day from Sunday to Thursday (and on public holidays) from 07:00 to 22:00 and on Friday and Saturday from 07:00 to 00:00.

In order to improve the service, the reform is accompanied by centralised booking and a grouping of journeys. Reservations can be made via a single platform from 17 February 2020 for transportation scheduled after 2 March via the “Mobilitéitszentral” reservation centre (tel.: 246-52465 from Mon. to Fri., 07:00-19:00; Sat., Sun. and public holidays, 09:00-14:30), online at the sites above or via smartphone application, available for Android (Google play) and IOS.

Adapto transport serves only the territory of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
