A new bicycle lane has been set up along Place des Martyrs on Rue Sainte Zithe in the direction of the city centre in Luxembourg-Ville.

Aimed at supporting the deployment of cycle routes in the capital's territory, the parking strip along the mentioned route was converted by the Ville de Luxembourg's (VdL) Traffic Service into a bicycle lane. The new bike lane provides a link between the city centre and the train station district and is an integral part of the permanent route between the Pont Adolphe cycle bridge and the Gare district as part of the Luxtram project.

The two-way cycle route between Place de la Gare and Place de Paris will be accessible from 12 May 2019.

In addition, a suggestive cycle lane on Boulevard Général Patton towards Val de Hamm will be open to the public from Thursday 28 March 2019. The suggestive lane, aimed at optimising the capital's cycling routes, will, during a first phase, be available for a trial period. This measure aims to improve the safety of cyclists without affecting motorised traffic.
