Potential traffic disturbances are to be expected at the Gasperich interchange on the A1 and A6 motorways due to construction works taking place from June-September 2018.

The Luxembourg Roads Administration have begun the first of four phases related to the construction of a new structure passing over the Hwy. Arlon (A6), at the height of the Gasperich interchange.

The expected duration of the project is approximately 4 months (June to mid-September), during which time motorway traffic will be guided by narrowed roads through the site to allow the construction of the main part of the structure. Traffic will be divided on two lanes in both directions for the duration of the project.

In view of the narrowing of the lanes, the speed limit is restricted to 70 km/h in both directions.

Traffic disturbances are possible until the end of the project with the following motorways being closed from this Friday 8 June at 20:00 until Monday 11 June at 06:00: the current section of the A1 and A6 motorways at the Gasperich interchange in both directions and the exit of the Gasperich interchange from Arlon (Cessange) and towards Luxembourg-Gare/Hesperange.

Moreover, traffic from Trier (A1) to Arlon (A6) will be diverted from the Gasperich interchange via the A3 to the Gluck roundabout and back onto the A6, whilst traffic from Arlon (Cessange, A6) to Trier will be diverted via the A3 to the Livange interchange, then back onto the Gasperich interchange to the A1. Finally, traffic from Arlon (Cessange) from the A6 to Luxembourg-Gare/Hesperange will be diverted via the A3 motorway to the Livange interchange, then back onto the A3.
