The third edition of the European Digital HealthTech Conference will take place at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg-Kirchberg on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 March 2025.
This international event, organised by Luxinnovation, will explore the impact of the implementation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) on the development, innovation, use and adoption of digital health solutions.
The EHDS is described as a European framework for data standardisation and interoperability that is expected to transform the use of health data in the EU, facilitating the exchange of data for healthcare delivery, fostering a single market for electronic health record systems, while providing a platform for the re-use of health data for research, innovation and public health decision-making. The EHDS is also expected to provide a legal framework for collecting large, coherent patient data sets across Europe, facilitating the development of new therapies and enabling personalised medicine.
The organisers have invited all players involved in healthtech innovation – companies researchers, healthcare professionals and decision makers – to share their insights and experiences on how the EHDS will impact the following:
- health data collection, standardisation and organisation;
- opportunities for innovation and the extended use of digital health solutions to deliver better, more personalised healthcare;
- the secondary use of health data for research and innovation;
- the need to build trustworthy digital health solutions and ensure their adoption by patients and healthcare professionals.
Key speakers at the conference will include Luxembourg’s Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, and Minister of Health and Social Security, Martine Deprez, who will discuss the topic: "Digitalisation of healthcare in Luxembourg: seizing future innovation opportunities".
The conference will also include round table discussions, as well as a workshop: “Unlocking European funding opportunities for digital health research and innovation”.
