Luxembourg's Ministry of State have announced that Prime Minister, Minister of State, Xavier Bettel, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Following regular screening through rapid antigen tests, Prime Minister Bettel, tested positive for COVID-19 and He has placed himself in self-isolation.

A PCR test confirmed this result on Monday 18 July 2022 and the Prime Minister will remain in isolation in accordance with the provisions laid down by the Health Directorate.

Prime Minister Bettel is showing only mild symptoms and will continue to carry out his duties and functions through teleworking.

Prime Minister Bettel had tested positive for COVID-19 before on Sunday 27 June 2021 as well.
