Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has announced the recommendation of a fourth dose of a COVID-19 vaccine for people aged 60 and over.

Following the recommendation of the Superior Council of Infectious Diseases (Conseil supérieur des maladies infectieuses - CSMI), a fourth dose of a COVID-19 vaccine may now be administered to people aged 60 and over, as well as anyone (regardless of age) at risk of contracting a severe form of COVID-19, in the Grand Duchy. This fourth dose is to be given at an interval of at least four months after the booster dose. The vaccine product used for the fourth dose will be an mRNA vaccine. This fourth dose aims to maintain a high level of vaccine protection that the people in question have acquired against COVID-19 infection, severe forms of the disease and death.

Eligible people aged 60 and over will receive an invitation from the Luxembourg Government by post to get vaccinated; this letter will include detailed instructions on how to make an appointment at the Victor Hugo vaccination centre in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg, which will be exceptionally open until 12 August 2022 inclusive, or with their general practitioner (GP), in a pharmacy or in the "Impfbus" vaccination bus. People under the age of 60 who are at risk of contracting a severe form of COVID-19 are asked to contact their GP, who can either vaccinate them directly or refer them to a vaccination centre or other location.

The list of GPs and pharmacies participating in the vaccination campaign, as well as the Impfbus timetable, is available on the impfen.lu website.

Personalised assistance is also offered through the dedicated helpline: 247-65533.
