On Thursday 24 February 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 819 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 988 fatalities (no new deaths since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.

819 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 3,278 tests carried out the day before, representing 129.03 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 25.02%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 637.00. 

A total of 27 people are in hospital with the virus, including six patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 9,890 active infections known, whilst a total of 170,317 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.22.

A total of 1,262,285 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (478,236 first doses, 426,399 second doses, 357,650 additional doses). A total of 467,881 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 127.60; for vaccinated individuals, this was 129.59. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
