Luxembourg's Prison Administration has announced the strengthening of preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 at the Centre pénitentiaire de Luxembourg (CPL), otherwise known as Schrassig Prison.
Following the emergence of new COVID-19 infections at Schrassig Prison, the Prison Administration has decided to increase preventive measures against the spread of the virus.
Activities requiring the intervention of external people have been cancelled and internal movements are again limited to the strict minimum. Visits to the prison are maintained, but with a maximum of two visitors per inmate (children included) behind a plexiglass partition.
The sanitary measures set out above are applicable for a period of two weeks with a possibility of extension depending on the situation at Schrassig Prison.
Currently, eight inmates have tested positive for COVID-19 and 100 inmates have been put into quarantine. The Prison Administration and the medical service within Schrassig Prison are monitoring the development of the situation closely and on an ongoing basis.
