On Wednesday 8 September 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 97 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 833 fatalities (one new death since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.
97 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 4,310 tests carried out the day before, representing 15.28 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.25%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 59.29.
A total of 38 people are in hospital with the virus, including ten patients in intensive care.
There are currently 1,170 active infections known, whilst a total of 74,452 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.09.
A total of 769,652 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (410,438 first doses, 359,214 second doses). A total of 395,384 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
