On Thursday 20 May 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 67 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 809 fatalities (one new death since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.
67 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 10,397 tests carried out the day before, representing 10.56 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.64%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 63.00.
A total of 51 people are in hospital with the virus, including eighteen patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Wednesday 19 May 2021, there are currently 1,662 active infections known, whilst a total of 66,994 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.83.
As of Wednesday, a total of 304,062 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (213,291 first doses, 90,771 second doses); 3,796 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 2,913 received their second dose on Tuesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
