On Wednesday 17 March 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 297 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 704 fatalities (seven new deaths since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.
297 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 11,412 tests carried out the day before, representing 47.44 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.60%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 193.14. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.
A total of 113 people are in hospital with the virus, including 25 patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Tuesday 16 March 2021, there are currently 3,038 active infections known, whilst a total of 54,666 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.08.
As of Tuesday, a total of 64,068 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg; 2,721 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 569 received their second dose on Tuesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
