On Friday 12 March 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 182 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 681 fatalities (six new deaths since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.

182 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 10,102 tests carried out the day before, representing 29.07 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.80%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 172.29. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.

A total of 128 people are in hospital with the virus, including 32 patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Thursday 11 March 2021, there are currently 2,881 active infections known, whilst a total of 53,941 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.03.

As of Thursday, a total of 54,865 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg; 2,867 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 543 received their second dose on Thursday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
